Together in Hope fully sponsored the development of Bethany House in Entebbe, Uganda. Bethany House will serve as a gathering place for people who want to help realize a vision of reconciliation in Africa, particularly in the Great Lakes region of Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi. This initiative is carried out in collaboration with Emmanuel Katongole, a Ugandan Catholic priest, professor at Duke Divinity School, and co-director of the Center for Reconciliation at Duke Divinity School. Dr. Katongole invites people from around the world to experience Africa - the joys, challenges, and people - and to listen to Africa’s true story. Dr. Katongole believes that those who visit Africa will experience a journey that has potential for deep transformation in both their own lives and the lives of their African brothers and sisters. Bethany House provides a retreat facility for this reconciliation effort and transformative work.

Together in Hope is exploring education programs and housing arrangements for children who are orphaned due to the civil war in Uganda. Check back for more upcoming news about Together in Hope in Africa.
