On December 30, 2008, Jessica Wright Pottinger passed peacefully from this life into the arms of heaven. Jessica loved serving little children, and she lived her life with the openness and enthusiasm of a child even in life’s darkest hours. Many of the world’s children live continuously in the dark hour of hunger and hopelessness. Jessica’s Table has been created in loving memory of Jessica to feed the world’s children in her name.
This project began in Malis, Philippines in 2008. It was established by Together in Hope in partnership with Bellaire and Bethany United Methodist Churches. It is a feeding and educational support program working in marginalized areas around the world. Jessica’s Table is operating in four locations in the Philippines, feeding and educating a total of 700 children per week. It has expanded to El Salvador, and hopes to begin work in Ethiopia this coming summer. Jessica’s Table is being run solely by the local community in each of these areas. It is a completely self-sustainable project to feed and educate the children of the world.
