Questions and Answers

1. WHAT IS TOGETHER IN HOPE (“TIH”)?

Together in Hope is a non-profit organization committed to building relationships with members of impoverished, war-torn, or otherwise disadvantaged communities for the purpose of collaborating with them to promote their material and spiritual well-being. Together in Hope’s mission is rooted in a deep conviction that all people and creatures of the world are created by God and are intended to thrive.  Out of this conviction, Together in Hope provides resources to these communities and to organizations identified and qualified by its Board of Directors as effectively working for the physical, economic, social, educational, and spiritual development of such communities through programs that are just and that honor the dignity of the poor as valued members of the global community.

2. WHAT ARE THE TOGETHER IN HOPE PROJECTS?

Together in Hope currently has projects in the Philippines, Africa, and El Salvador to assist the poor. You can learn more about each of these projects by visiting http://www.togetherinhope.org and clicking on the “Projects” button on the tool bar.

3. HOW CAN I CONTRIBUTE TO THESE PROJECTS?

The easiest way to contribute is to make one of the project homepages your internet browser homepage. All you have to do is go to http://www.togetherinhope.org and click on the “contribute” button on the tool bar. Then click on the link for the Together in Hope homepage, which allows Together in Hope to select which project will be supported by funds generated by your computer, or select one of the homepages for a particular project, which means that funds generated by your computer will go to that particular project. You can see what one of these homepage links looks like here:

After you have selected which homepage you want to use, simply click on it and follow the instructions. It’s that easy and it costs you nothing except to keep your internet browser open to this homepage as often as possible.

You can also contribute by writing a check payable to “Together in Hope”1 and writing in the designation line either “Together in Hope” or the particular project to which you wish to contribute. Your check should be mailed to the following address:
Together in Hope, 1250 Wood Branch Park Drive, Suite 625, Houston, Texas 77079

4. HOW DOES MAKING A TOGETHER IN HOPE PAGE MY HOMEPAGE RAISE MONEY FOR TOGETHER IN HOPE PROJECTS?

We all have excess computing power on our PCs that we never use. The homepage link allows Plura Processing to utilize some of that excess computing power without interfering with your computer and without compromising its security. By sharing some of our unused computing power with Plura Processing, we magnify the usefulness of our computers and also contribute to a worthy cause that helps other people in need. Money is donated to TIH by Plura Processing based on the number of computers that participate. The more computers, the better. The longer they are on the homepage, the better. Keep the homepage open all the time. You will never notice it. You can do anything you did before, even with the homepage open all the time. We can all be Together in Hope by having as many people participate as possible. Nothing could be easier. Learn how we are all saving resources by helping TIH raise funds through Plura Processing at http://www.pluraprocessing.com. You can make a difference.

5. WHO USES THE COMPUTING POWER OF MY COMPUTER AND FOR WHAT PURPOSES?

Plura Processing and the Creeris group of companies are the only ones who use the excess computing power from your computer. When you have the browser window open on one of the TIH homepages2, Plura Processing is able to enlarge the computing power to which it has access. The selected TIH project benefits from the revenue paid by Plura Processing for access to that computing power. Access to this excess computing power allows Plura Processing to make some mathematical calculations and engage in technical research. It’s like car pooling to save resources.

6. IF I MAKE ONE OF THE TOGETHER IN HOPE PAGES MY HOMEPAGE, IS MY COMPUTER SECURE?

Yes. It is 100% secure. Making one of the Together in Hope pages your homepage does not allow anyone to access your computer or its information. The technology precludes any such invasion of your privacy. It does not permit anyone to invade, spy on, look into, infect, or hack into your computer.

7. WHAT IF I CHANGE MY MIND AND DO NOT WANT THAT AS MY HOME PAGE?

If you change your mind, just remove the TIH page as your homepage and go back to your regular browser homepage.

1 Together in Hope has applied for tax exempt status as a 501(c)(3) organization.
2 TIH has homepages for projects in Africa, El Salvador, and the Philippines. There is also a general TIH homepage that can be used to generate funds for TIH to allocate to projects as needed. You can learn more about these and other projects at http://www.togetherinhope.org.
